PMU FAQs

  • See our ‘About Permanent Make-Up’ page for all you need to know regarding PMU…there’s lot of good information there

  • It can be uncomfortable

Here’s what to expect: It feels like you are being scratched by sandpaper. You will be numbed throughout the procedure, but you will still feel a little bit of discomfort in between numbing. Don’t worry, just let your PMU Artist know, and she can make you as comfortable as possible. It’s totally worth any discomfort you may feel, and in comparison is much less painful than getting an actual body tattoo.

  • We definitely recommend reading all the pages under ‘Everything Brows’ as well as ‘General Policies’ to prepare for your visit.

  • Absolutely not!

Here’s why: We use a top-grade PMU pigment that was created by experienced chemists, cosmetologists, and tattoo artists to create the perfect formula. It passes the resAP 2008 regulations for Europe and is sterilized by gamma radiation. The ingredients are a combination of powdered pigments, glycerin, witch hazel, isopropyl alcohol, aqua, and rosin. It is gamma-ray sterilized, vegan, and cruelty-free. The pigments we use are also MSDS certified. They will never veer off from the original color used, due to its lightfastness. It will only fade over time to a lighter version of itself.

  • That’s easy…as soon as you feel the need to enhance your PMU with makeup to make it a bit darker, it’s time for a touch-up!

  • Totally understandable! Not to worry, we use several tools and techniques to measure and map out an outline for the perfect brow shape for you. You are asked to approve the shape we map for you, and we will continue to polish it up until it is a shape that you love. However, it is unrealistic to expect your brows to be 100% identical, as muscle-pull and skin sag can slightly alter the look of your brows. The goal is that your brows look as close to identical as possible, but as sisters, not twins.

Also, check out the ‘Prepare for your Visit’ page about the window to get your brows done if you do Botox/Dysport treatments, as that can drastically impact your results if outside of the timeframe.

  • A good rule of thumb is to plan for it to take 4 hours. Please see the ‘Prepare for your Visit’ page for more information on how to prepare before your big day.

  • Right now, we are offering PMU services for eyebrows only. However, soon we will be adding on eyeliner and lip blushing. The next phase will be adding on scalpification, and 3D Areola and nipple PMU for mastectomy patients. Stay tuned!

Checkout the ‘Our PMU Services’ page for more detailed info on our current PMU services.

  • We’ve got some great detailed info under our ‘Post-Procedure Care Instructions’ page, so be sure to check that out for the most comprehensive answer to that question

  • Absolutely not!

Here’s why: Anyone with eyebrows that look like that most likely had them done by a tattoo artist who does not specialize in permanent make-up and the specialized tools, pigment, and techniques that we use to achieve flattering shaping, shading, and overall natural results. You are free to discuss any of your concerns during your consultation. We even offer a separate consultation for those unsure whether they are ready to book their PMU appointment yet. This removes the pressure of locking yourself into an appointment before you’re ready to do so. You can book a separate consultation online. We’d love to spend some time with you addressing any questions or concerns you still have.

  • We cover this in depth under the ‘About PMU’ page. Scroll down to see where we address that specifically.
